The 7th Tennessee fought in Archer's Brigade at Gettysburg

Tennessee Valor: The 7th Tennessee Infantry Regiment at Gettysburg

The writing process has begun!

I worked for five hours today, sorting through my files, figuring out what journals, reports, letters, publications, and other writings were available to assemble a publication suitable to give honor to the men who fought beneath the 7th’s colors.

Tom Thompson facebook.com/Alabamyman has graciously allowed me to use some of his marvelous art pieces to illustrate the working-book-cover. If you haven’t seen his work, take at look at his facebook page.  Tom, thanks so much.

Initially, I am aiming to corral the story of the 7th Tennessee within the framework of 10 chapters, plus a detailed roster, a bibliography, and an index. I am aiming for 50,000 to 60,000 words.

I will create a number of color maps to show the 7th’s participation at Gettysburg, and at other important battles.

I plan to schedule my time so I will be able to put in 20-25 hours a week on this project. I would be honored if you follow along and offer suggestions.
