April 13 (Sat.): No music lesson. Spent the day cleaning the house. Minnie came over in the afternoon. Latest news – war has really commenced.[1] God pity and save our Country.[2] How much of the sunshine of the life has been ours. May we be saved from Civil War is my earnest prayer. So much of gloomy feeling and gloomy weather.
