The 11th North Carolina Marches to Gettysburg –

I have now completed the research and writing of all the chapters leading up to the battle of Gettysburg.

I’ve included a rough draft of the map accompanying Chapter 6.

So far, the page count has reached 100.

Add to that 65 pages that lists each man in the regiment, along with his DOB, rank, pre-war occupation, and what happened to him during the war.

Right now there are over 400 endnotes, as I use the quotes from the soldiers as they describe what is taking place.

I am certain the book is on schedule to be completed and sent to the publisher by December 1st. That means the book should be released in July/August 2015. I will be ready to sign copies at that time!

Each week day I write around 1,000 words and move the manuscript forward 3 or 4 pages.

I look forward to purchasing your book. You have done so much research! Do you mind if I ask why I can’t find my ancestor anywhere? I’ve been looking for service info for over 20 years and still come up with nothing confident. All I know is: Joel Clark, born Morganton, NC (Burke county) and supposedly was in the 11th NC regiment company B. Do you have any suggestions?? Thank you and good luck with the book!

Hello. I am looking forward to your book about the NC 11th. My gg grandfather is Elisha Todd. His brothers, William and Nehemiah were also part of the 11th co. C. I have collected a lot of info about the Todd’s and their lives. I do have a picture of Elisha in his late 60s/70s wearing his Confederate medal. I would happy to share my info with you.
